Will you shave my husky?
Only if the coat has gone too far to save. A double coat keeps a dog cool in summer as well as warm in winter, so our Highland groomers would rather spend the extra time drying and brushing it out. If it is matted to the skin we will tell you honestly before we start, and explain the options.
How long does a groom take at Highland?
Two to four hours for most dogs, and longer for a heavy double coat that needs a proper dry and brush-out. We text you when they are ready rather than making you guess.
Can I get nails clipped without an appointment?
Yes. Walk in between 9am and 2pm, Monday to Saturday, and we will do nails while you wait. That is the window when a groomer is free to take walk-ins, so you will not be waiting around. No booking needed, and no need to bring them in for a full groom.
What vaccinations do you require?
A current rabies vaccination is required. We also recommend DHPP and bordetella, since dogs share the salon with each other all day, but rabies is the only one we ask to see.
Do you groom cats in Highland?
No, this salon is dogs only. Cat grooming is at our Sandy location, where the groomers are trained in feline handling and low-stress technique.
